Getting Assigned in the Middle of a Project
By popular demand from our membership, the PMI South Carolina Midlands Chapter has committed to providing its membership with *** Free *** monthly, evening networking events in downtown Columbia. These events will occur the 2nd Thursday of each month, 5:30pm – 7:30pm, and will include beverages, food, one hour of training, and one hour of networking.
End of Quarter Social (In Person Only)
(Note the date change!) Join us for our end-of-the-quarter social on Thursday, October 5th, at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant at 6:00 PM. Stop by and enjoy great food and drinks while networking with fellow project managers!
Holiday Social (In Person Only)
Join us for great food, drinks, and networking at our Holiday Social & Ugly Sweater Contest on Thursday, November 30th, at 6:00 PM. The event will be held at Seibels House & Gardens in Columbia, South Carolina.
Mentorship Program Kickoff
MENTORSHIP PROGRAM KICK-OFF MEETING
We are starting a first-of-its-kind mentorship program for the chapter. And this event would be a kick-off cermony for the program. Below are specific details about the event:

Venue: USC/Columbia Incubator, 1225 Laurel Street, Columbia SC 29201
THE KICKOFF MEETING (AN OVERVIEW)
The meeting will kick off with an overview of the program including goals and potential benefits. We will also discuss the mentorship cycle.
THE KICKOFF MEETING (THE MATCHING PROCESS): Next would be the matching process. We have come up with a fun approach to matching people. We call it “speed dating”. Participants chat with 5 people for 3-5 minutes to get to know them better. This would help in matching mentor/mentee teams.
THE MECHANICS OF THE PROGRAM (AN OVERVIEW): Once mentor/mentee teams are matched, the mechanics of the mentor program will be discussed in more details. Teams would be required to develop their mentorship (SMART) goals, length of their engagements and the frequency of meetings.
