"Knowing When to Escalate"

No one likes escalating problems to their Project Board or sponsor. Most project managers would rather struggle than to ask for help. This process can be a pain point and can give rise to strife within the project team and its members. Because of this fact, it is important to know what kind of situations are appropriate when escalating. Also once escalation has happened, how can a project manager use soft skills to avoid conflicts and productivity decreases that usually arise.

In this lecture Kenneth Zenauskas will use real-life situations where escalating made a real difference in their project. He will also go into detail on the five scenarios where it pays to escalate.

  • When the decision-maker is not clear
  • When people don’t work together
  • When you can’t control absurd changes
  • Meeting Unrealistic expectations
  • When politics get in the way
