Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the way projects and PMOs operate. This session provides project professionals with a practical understanding of where AI has come from, how it is being used today in project environments, and where it is heading next.

Through live demonstrations, attendees will learn how AI is already helping PMs and PMOs streamline administrative work, identify risks earlier, and support better decision-making. The presentation will also introduce the PMI Certified Professional in Managing AI (PMI-CPMAI)™ methodology as a structured framework for responsible AI adoption and governance.

The session will conclude with a forward-looking discussion on AI agents, autonomous work, and the evolving role of the project manager in the age of AI.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the evolution of AI and why recent advancements are changing project management operations.
  • Identify practical use cases for AI in project management work.
  • Apply AI techniques to improve reporting, documentation, communication, and operational efficiency.
  • Recognize common AI project risks and understand the importance of governance and human oversight.
  • Understand how AI agents and autonomous workflows are reshaping the future role of project managers and PMOs.
