Change is a fact. Change happens. Change is necessary to keep pace and evolve. So, why is change so hard for many? Think about your personal life, your work environment, and the PMI. Change is everywhere. But what makes some changes more successful than others? People often resist change because they believe they will lose something of value, or fear not being able to adapt. The presenter will discuss change principles both in the literature and through personal examples. Let’s and talk about how to embrace change without kicking and screaming.

Dr. Denney is an Assistant Professor of Decision Sciences in the College of Business at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide. A Navy veteran, she retired from Lockheed Martin after a demonstrated 30-year record of accomplishment of winning executable business, planning to assure program success, risk management and project execution with solid financial acuity. As a 20+-year project and program manager, Dr. Denney managed a wide variety of domains including satellite development, ground control stations, surface ships, electronic warfare, and unmanned underwater vehicles. She was responsible for a portfolio of over US$500 million.
Marlon Walters, Ph.D. is an executive, speaker, educator, consultant, and author. He is the founder and CEO of Inside Edge, a national consulting company focused on Leadership Development, Culture Transformation, and Talent Development & Recognition. Having traveled extensively throughout the country, Marlon addresses some of today's critical business & organizational issues affecting personal and professional development. His experience and research have given him insight that balances theory and science relevant to today's corporate climate. He spent 10 years specifically in project management with the last 4 of those years being a Portfolio Manager. He was responsible for managing initiatives delivering in excess of $52MM annually in revenue and capacity saves.
Mr. Whitaker has more than twenty-five years of software development executive leadership and training experience in a variety of technology roles and industries. Ken has written books on leadership, graphics and publishing. He is a recognized innovator in instructional design and workshops primarily on agile project management and execution.
