Topic: Relationship Management for Project Managers
Project Managers manage projects similar to Movie Directors in managing films. Indicated by their
use of scopes/plots, human resources/characters, materials/props, and of course budgets are all
managed for successful outcomes. But most critical to the art of achieving memorable productions
for both skillsets is Managing Relationships.
Katie London is a Certified Project Management Professional with extensive experience in producing successful project deliverables in career transition, training and human resources. She is also a Certified Trainer and Consultant, a member of the ASTD, WBENC, board of directors for American Red Cross and PMI Midlands Chapter, and a member of the US Congressional Advisory Committee. Katie is CEO of Marybo Enterprises Inc., where she serves the public and private sectors in providing innovative training, business consulting, and project management solutions. She also serves as VP of Consultative Services and business partner to First Sun Consulting, the largest privately owned career transition firm in the southeast. Prior to launching Marybo Enterprises, Inc., Katie was Project Director for Duke Corporate Education, the world leader in executive education. Katie worked with internal/external faculty and staff to design and deliver custom educational experiences for the top 2% of executives world-wide. She was responsible for project direction, customer relationship management, project management, budgets, and overall operational direction for educational programs and was promoted to Lead Project Director for Fuqua School of Business’ Executive Education Open Enrollment programs. Before joining Duke CE, Katie provided project management, consulting, and job development services as Career Center Manager for DBM, Drake Beam Morin- a world leader in transition services. She has managed successful transition projects and implemented job placement and training programs for companies such as IBM, GE, Cisco, and Moore North America. Katie began her career at Southern Wesleyan University, a subsidiary of Institute for Professional Development, where she led a project that achieved the most successful recruitment/marketing efforts in the history of the program.
She earned both a bachelor degree in human resources and a master degree in organizational management from Southern Wesleyan University. As an adjunct professor, Katie has taught students at Limestone College and Midlands Technical College. Katie presently provides project management and consulting services to federal and state governments, corporations and small business owners. She resides in Columbia, SC and has one daughter who is a portrait artist and owner of Kimara London Fine Art
